The RGB color model is an additive color model in which red, green, and blue light is added together in various ways to reproduce a broad array of colours. The name of the model comes from the initials of the three additive primary colour, red, green, and blue (RGB)
The importance of technical compatibility in images is important because the quality of the image is depending on the setting in which you select. What i mean by this is if you are wanting to print out a image you would set it to (CMYK) this is because the printer creates colour by laying colours on top of each other and give high detailed and best quality print outs. If you are wanting to upload a image to the web you set the setting of the image to (RGB) this is because (RGB) are primary colours and when you mix the primary colours with one another they create secondary colours, so when you create a image online and a particular colour is visible on the screen it is actually made from (RGB) colours being mixed.
When you print at home, you can actually tell your printer to use any number of pixels per inch. A printer needs to use more pixles per inch to produce a high quality image than your monitor does. If you print a photo at 100 dpi, it is not going to look like a professional print. You will be able to see grain and fuzziness, the actual pixels that make up the digital photograph.
Technical metadata correspond to internal metadata, business metadata to external metadata. Kimball adds a third category named Process metadata. On the other hand, NISO distinguishes between three types of metadata: descriptive, structural and administrative. Descriptive metadata is the information used to search and locate an object such as title, author, subjects, keywords, publisher; structural metadata gives a description of how the components of the object are organised; andadministrative metadata refers to the technical information including file type. Two sub-types of administrative metadata are rights management metadata and preservation metadata.
There are hundreds of image file types. An example of image file formats are, JPEG, TIFF, PNG, GIF, BMP and many more. Formats are most often used to display images on the Internet.
For image editing, MAC's are well known for there top quality designer advantages, they are a quick, high performing, piece of hardware that can run high quality software such as photoshop which is a excellent software for designers, it allows you to make and edit images at such a high standard. Hence why it is well known around the world and used by the top designers.
Images can me imported to a PC by using a USB cable. After doing so the image should be imported onto the memory of the PC, and allows you to therefore edit the photo using whatever software you feel necessary.
Editing images can be a bit of a hassle. The reason for this is because you have to take into consideration the specifications such as DPI resolution, print dimensions, pixel dimensions and file format. A good thing to do for the client is to produce preliminary proofs for the client as it shows them how well the work is progressing. They could add is what they would prefer and also take out what they don't like, improving the design.
Copy Right = A law which was set by the government. The law states that if a designer copyrights his design then no one else may use it in anyway, but if someone does have access to it and decides to use it in there work, then the legal owner of that work has the right to money that is earned by the user of the copy written design.
Health and Safety Legislation in the workplace = computers and electrical items is an example of this. In my workplace wires are a potential hazard, as someone could trip and fall over hurting them selfs. with multiple wires lying around the place and tangle up that could also lead to a fire potentially, but if there was a fire my workplace has Fire door's which must be shut at all times to prevent a fire from spreading.
